Reading support

If you need reading and writing support due to a disability, you are welcome to contact the Faculty of Law's librarian: Karin Bjerefeldt. You do not need a medical certificate to get access to the library's resources. Distance learning students are also welcome to contact the library.

The library offers when needed:

  • Access to course books in an adapted format, such as talking books or Braille.
  • Extended loan period for library books
  • Access to speech synthesis and other software.

If you have a disability that makes it difficult for you to read printed text, you can access talking books, braille books and e-textbooks on Legimus.
Examples of disabilities that can cause a reading disability are:

  • reading and writing difficulties
  • visual impairment
  • physical disabilities, such as mobility impairments that make it difficult to hold a book.
  • intellectual disabilities
  • neuropsychiatric disabilities, such as autism and ADHD
  • temporary reading disability due to, for example, injury or illness.

To listen to Legimus talking books, you need a user account. Librarian Karin Bjerefeldt will help you with a briefing and login. Book an appointment via:

lasstod [at] jur [dot] lu [dot] se (lasstod[at]jur[dot]lu[dot]se)

If you cannot find your course literature on Legimus, you can order a new reading. This applies to compulsory course literature.
Please note it takes 8-12 weeks to get a new talking book.

lasstod [at] jur [dot] lu [dot] se (Contact  to order a new reading.)

TorTalk is a tool that you can use to listen to all types of text, on your mobile phone and on your computer.
You can choose language and speech speed.
As a student or employee at Lund University, you have access to TorTalk.
TorTalk is available for PC and Mac, and also as an app for iPhone/iPad and Android mobiles.

Those who are entitled to reading support are entitled to borrow course literature for four weeks instead of two. Book an appointment for a review of the library's reading support via:
